West Valley City School

Service Learning

Once a trimester, City School students leave the building to participate in student-created service learning projects. By volunteering in their communities, students make connections between in-class learning and the world around them. Students work with their Teams to design a service learning project and organize activities.

Service learning projects, once initiated, carry throughout the school year: students develop a long-term relationship with their service learning partner. From working at the Vanessa Behan crisis nursery, to walking dogs at SCRAPS, to clearing knapweed at People's Park, students have the opportunity to make a difference in their community.
